Connection guide
Connect a Harreither Universum Gen7
Hydrum connects through Harreither's cloud relay. Nothing is installed at home, but the controller and your browser need internet access.
1. Gather the controller details
Confirm that the controller is Universum Gen7 and that you have permission to connect it. Menu names and the information visible on the touch panel depend on firmware.
- Serial number: look on the controller label, the installer's handover sheet or the touch panel under Menu → System info.
- Username and Password: use the same controller login as in the Harreither Gen7 app.
- Auth code: ask your installer for the 20-character code. Depending on firmware and access, the installer may find it under System info.
- Keep passwords and auth codes private. Do not put them in screenshots, support messages or logs.
2. Keep the two logins separate
Your Hydrum account uses an email address and its own password. Create that account or sign in before connecting a system.
The Username and Password fields on Connect your system are for the controller. Your Hydrum email and password do not replace the Harreither app login. Use a different password for your Hydrum account.
3. Submit the connection form
Enter the serial number, controller username and password, and complete auth code. The optional Name is how the system appears in Hydrum. Preserve the auth code's upper- and lower-case letters; do not let a keyboard capitalise it for you.
Choose Connect and wait for the result. Hydrum verifies the controller identity and login through the relay before saving the connection. The stored controller password and auth code are encrypted with AES-GCM.
The auth code authorises the first connection; the relay remembers the connection identity afterwards. Keep your original details safely in case the system needs to be authorised again.
4. Read a failed connection carefully
Use the error shown by the form rather than repeatedly submitting different credentials.
- Offline or timeout: check the controller's internet connection. An available website does not prove that the controller or relay is reachable.
- Login rejected: check the controller username and password, not your Hydrum account password.
- Auth code not accepted: check all 20 letters and digits, including case, with your installer. Do not guess codes.
- Controller identity could not be verified: stop. Hydrum does not send the login when identity verification fails; do not bypass that check.
5. Check the wall and share access deliberately
Open the wall and check the room names and latest reading time. If you change the controller login later, the system owner can update it under Manage → Controller login.
Invite household members with their own accounts instead of sharing your password. For a communal tablet, create a display link with only the permission it needs. Neither an invitation nor a display link requires giving someone the controller auth code.
